Dr Raja Shanmuga Krishnan is a Consultant Oncoplastic breastsurgeon at Ganga Hospital since July 2018. He is from Coimbatore and has a brilliant academic career. He did his undergraduation from Madurai Medical College and won the Gold medal for Plastic Surgery and a certification of merit for medicine. He then did his post graduation in General Surgery at Madras Medical College and won the Edmund LeredeChalkie Prize conducted for the best postgraduate in general surgery at Madras Medical College. He was awarded the first prize in quiz conducted for all postgraduates in general surgery at CMC Vellore. As his interest lied in plastic surgery, he worked as a registrar in plastic surgery at Ganga Hospital. He did well in his DNB Entrance Examination and was the first person to chose Plastic Surgery in India. He opted to do DNB Plastic surgery at Ganga Hospital. As a postgraduate, he won the Gold medal in Plastic Surgery conducted by Madras Medical College for all plastic surgery postgraduates in Tamil Nadu and the Gold Medal for the best presentation conducted by the Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry Plastic Surgery Association. He won the first price in S K Bhatnagar quiz conducted for all Plastic Surgeons in India by the Association of Plastic Surgeons of India for two successive years. After completing his post graduation, he worked in Ganga Hospital for six months as a Senior Registrar.

After becoming a plastic surgeon, he wanted to further subspecialise in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery, Burns and Cosmetic Surgery and applied for fellowships abroad. As he had cleared MRCS (Membership of Royal College Of Examinations), the General Medical Council, UK allowed him to practice in the UK. He trained as a Senior Fellow in Plastic Surgery under the mentorship of Prof. Venkat Ramakrishnan and Dr Naguib El Muttardi at St.Andrew’s Centre for Plastic Surgery at Chelmsford,UKwhich is a world-renowned centre for Breast Reconstruction and Burns for two years. He also learnt breast aesthetic surgery from Prof. Venkat Ramakrishnan. He trained in the USA for six months in cosmetic surgery. He has passed all three steps of the USMLE exam which is a tough exam needed to train in the USA. He trained under Dr Rod Rohrich, a doyen in rhinoplasty and cosmetic surgery at Dallas for three months. He visited Galveston to learn more about the management and rehabilitation of burns. He also learnt body contouring from Dr Joseph Capella and visited other centres at Mayo Hospital, Rochester and New Orleans.

Ever since his return to India, he is practising as a Consultant in Plastic Surgery at Ganga Hospital. He is also passionate about skin donation and speaks about it in various camps and forums. Beyond medicine, he loves watching cricket, good food and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Sunil Kumar MBBS, MS (General Surgery ) MCh (Surgical oncology) is a Consultant Surgical Oncologist at Ganga Hospital since September 2019. A native of Erode, Tamilnadu with an excellent academic record , he did his undergraduate MBBS at the Madras Medical College, Chennai and passed out with distinctions in Medicine and Surgery in the final exam. Then he joined Thanjavur Medical College for his post graduation in M.S ( General Surgery ). He worked in the unit which handled Oncology cases for a period of 2 years. After his post graduation he joined Department of Surgical Oncology at Madras Medical College where he honed his surgical approach and techniques under the watchful and inspiring eyes of eminent Professor. Dr.Jagadesh Chandra Bose. Head and neck surgeries, Sacral resection, limb salvage in musco-skeletal onco surgeries and urogynaec and breast surgeries were main areas of focus under Dr. Jagadish Chandra Bose .

Dr.Sunilkumar secured the first rank in the MCh surgical oncology entrance examination and joined Kerala state and Central government sponsored & designated Centre for cancer research - the Regional Cancer Centre, Trivandrum. He underwent site specific training at Regional Cancer Centre, Trivandrum for a period of 3 years where the academic culture is geared towards immediate adoption and practice ( with needed customisation ) of new & latest surgical techniques and protocols as soon as they are published anywhere in the world .Dr. Sunilkumar was awarded the prestigious Dr. Thomas Cherian Memorial Golden Scalpel award for the best Outgoing MCh Surgical Oncology student. He also trained at Tata Memorial Hospital in thoracic onco surgery and is an accredited Fellow in Minimal access surgery. He is a part of various research activities like sentinel node for oral cancers, Sacral reactions etc.His academic and research interests focus on Breast cancer surgery and Oncoplasty, Head and Neck Surgery, Musculoskeletal including Limb salvage surgeries, Minimally Invasive Uro-Gyneac Oncological surgeries

Dr Maneesha Palaniswamy is our medical officer who specialises in breast diseases. She is passionate about screening women for breast problems. Being a woman, many women feel at ease discussing their problems with her. She is known for examining women and talking to them in detail about their issues and addresses their fear and anxieties. She had a brilliant academic career. She received her medical education from Karpagam Medical College, Coimbatore. She got honours in the University examinations conducted in Biochemistry, Forensic Medicine, Ophthalmology, Community Medicine and Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She was the Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University topper in Microbiology. In addition, she has won many prizes in quiz and poster presentations. Beyond all this, she is a loving mother and a very friendly and amicable person to all.
